My Regular Website Is Back Up

Hi all,

Well, we’re back in cyberspace!!            Sundog Shibas

I’ll continue to post “goings on” here., but for more detailed info, check my website ( above ). Makala and Jaydin have both been bred to Mikado (my Champion red male) So, hopefully we’ll have puppies around Dec. 14, 2008. Both litters should have fantastic temperaments. I will be expecting reds and sesames.

I’ll keep you posted on their progress.

Off To New Homes

All the puppies have gone to their new homes now. On March 9th I loaded the 3 girls and my older Shiba, Kira (my Medical Alert Dog) into my truck, and my sisiter-in -law, Patty, and I headed for Portsmouth, NH. All of the girls found homes in CT, so I offered to meet everyone part way to save them a little over 3 hours driving time. We got there and everyone was already there. The wind was unbelievable, making it VERY cold. I had been talking with everyone off and on for a couple weeks or more, so we were able to do the final paperwork fairly quickly. Rowan On Ride Home       Here are pictures of a couple of the “kids” in their new homes.                                Tika and New Pal

Off To The Vet’s

This post should hve been before “Zen In His New Home”. I’m new to this and haven’t been able to figure some things out yet. The puppies went to Dr. Julie’s on Thurs. Mar.6th, for their shots and Health Cert. The Veterinary Clinic is in Sandwich (yes it’s a real town), NH, and the roads going to it are always a challenge this time of year because of frost heaves. This year however, they’re the worst I’ve ever seen them. Plus we had a storm a couple of days before and they were still covered with snow, making it impossible to see the bumps until you were right on top of them. I swear I left half my truck on the road, and the puppies learned how to fly.At any rate, they all checked out great, their patellas were nice and tight for their age, both of Zen’s testies were descended, no parasites, and they didn’t make a peep when they got their shot. I like to make sure the puppies are with me for at least 24 hours after their appointment, in case they have any kind of reaction to the vaccine. Zen’s going to his new home on Fri. Mar. 7th.   Zen Zen likes to voice his opinion, and he did so on the way home. Considering how bad the roads were, I was very surprised they all rode so well. Tiko and Zute

Zen Is In His New Home

Front YardBecause of all the snow, it is difficult to get in and out of my home, and although the dogs don’t seem to mind it, I’ve had enough.Kennels  Anyway, because of all the snow I had Zen’s new owners meet me at my sister-in-law’s house, which was much more accessible. I played with Zen outside while I was waiting for them to arrive, and he discovered his first pine cone.Zen  His new owners sent an e-mail on Sat. afternoon,  ”I just thought I would let you know that the trip home went well and we made it through the night!  Zen pretty much slept the entire way home.  He had one accident last night and we were not surprised due to all the stress of a long road trip and a new home.  He loves running in the pen we made.  The cats are not too excited about the new member of our family but I’m sure they will adjust…  We are amazed at how well he is doing.  We have already been working on the sit command.  Just a few minutes at a time.  He is starting to put it together, I think!”

Almost Time To Go To New Homes

The “kids” have really grown and will be 8 weeks old on 3-6-08. They’ll all be going to the Vet’s on Thurs. for their first shots and Health Cert. , and then they will be off to their new homes. The male, Zen, will be the first to leave on Fri. He’s staying in NH. ZenThe three girls are leaving Sun., and are all going to homes in CT. zutetiko.jpgI have never had two litters who were just alike. This litter was fairly mellow at 4 weeks, but it didn’t last! These guys would put the “Energizer Bunny” to shame.mookietiko.jpg

Growing

Zute has gotten over her timidness and has become a little terror (very cute though). She runs all over the pen with her brother and sisters, and like them, has decided the house is a great playground. The visit with Scott and Carol, and their two children, went very well.Zute

New Adventure

I took the gang outside for the first time today. Most everyone found it exciting, but Zute wasn’t very impressed. She did get a little better the second time I let them out. Zen’s First SnowScott and Carol are coming to see them tomorrow. I hope they’re happy with the litter.  Tiko’s First Snow

“Kids” are on the move!

Well this is my first post. Jaydin’s puppies are now 5 weeks old. It seems like they were only born yesterday. They had their first experiences running around the house. Nemo was exceptionally bold, going all the way into the living room and checking out Chevy in her crate.
